In 1995 the most complete edition in the world of The Book of Veles was published as a single volume of IndoEurope magazine in Kyiv, Ukraine. It contents all original and translated to modern Ukrainian texts. Answering to a question on authentic of this book, its translator Borys Yatsenko says:

I think that those scientists who considered The Book of Veles as a forgery, make a grave methodological mistake. In a textual study we should use consistency and logic. Breach of it bring to a biased result… As far as I know, the Soviet scientists, who investigated The Book of Veles since 1959 considered it as a falsification at once. They confirmed it in their tests. A talented observation of Zhukovska L. of The Book of Veles paleography, which confirm its authentic, was cover far-fetched arguments on the spot, which break a logic of textual study. Such breach is an attempt to consider The Book of Veles as a record of IX century. In such case all of latest linguistic structures could be produced as an evidence of falsification, you see. Moscow and Petersburg scientists followed this path, though textual study demands investigation two later development at least: a) those time, when the record was write and b) those time, when the record was rewrite and its form was kept to XX century. These demands wasn't down, therefore the conclusion of falsification The Book of Veles is wrong. This conclusion is simply groundless… In the condition of totalitarian society the conclusion of falsification The Book of Veles was intended on masses of readers in order to diminish the interest to it. Because this book is imbued with the spirit of free and majestic people that could be dangerous for empire ideology. Our ancestors from remote IX century address to XX century and tell on great value of liberty, spiritual independence and hold a hand of help.

And another researcher of The Book of Veles well-known Sanscritist Volodymyr Shayan says:

In the text of The Book of Veles are passages on main ceremony of our ancestors, namely Godglorify Sacrifice i.e. the sacrifice of Sura beverage. Sura is very similar to Soma in ceremonies of The Rigveda. The importance of ceremony and sacrifice of Soma is the evidence in the whole ninth book of The Rigveda… The report on Soma cult in The Rigveda was published in the later half of XIX century only … Thus invented falsifier The Book of Veles in the beginning of XIX century cannot be a great expert in The Rigveda…

Dr. Stepan Nalyvayko says:

…should strongly cast an assertion of a falsification The Book of Veles. Simply impossible forge a knowledge of life, thought, idea, gods, events, history of Slavs and reality of Aryan antiquity… The Book of Veles is an original record of our glorious history lost pages.

About Goddess Slava

Boris Rehbinder in his The Book of Veles, which I read in Ukrainian translation from "Vie et religion des slaves selon le livre de Vles". - Paris, 1980. - 92c. says:

One else another legend existed. Different small planks of The Book of Veles says about it … I mean beautiful bird - a messenger of God Perun. "Every feather of this bird shines on different colors". This beautiful bird called MATEPb CBA. It can be translated either MATEPb C^AVA (Mother Glory) or MATEPb BCEX (Mother of everyone) or MATEPb COBA (Mother Owl). (It can explain why in Russian folk picture and folklore can be found an owl).

Flame-colored bird MATEPb CBA appears in the critical moment and showed by its wing the direction, which should lead an army. Everybody knew that either a glory or the glorious death wait for warriors. And the prince had to do as the bird show.

And further Boris Rahbinder says:

From language of The Book of Veles descent all known Slavic languages: Ukrainian, Russian, Byelorussian, Polish, Czech and Slovak. And, of course, languages of southern Slavs. All of this people, including Bulgarians and Yugoslavs should be very interested to read and analyse the texts of The Book of Veles. This book will explain to them roots of their relations. They will hear of Father Or, their common ancestor. He directed to unit in order to defend their earth.

In addition to that has said Taras Kobzar from Ukraine (07 Jul 1998) I can add the following:

From the scientific point of view the Book of Veles is authentic. Modern scientific researches, archeological and historical information, assembled during 45 years, past from the moment of Veles's Book first publication in 1953 have convincingly proved it.

Today it is possible only from political or ideological reasons to doubt in authentic of Veles's Book.

The Book of Veles was written by Novgorod pagan priests in XI century. It was written for grandsons - that is for us with you. There are such words: "... Said it by priests, which left and again have come back..." and one more place about that time for which Veles's Book is intended: "... Which take force from a stones, creating a magic things - carts without horses and make some different magic things without priests...".

For modern Russian pagans the Book of Veles has such important meaning as Biblia for the christians.

There are some serious editions, containing the complete Veles's Book texts and the scientific comments. I give its names in a transliteration and English translation (in brackets):

I separately note two books of Sergey Lesnoy, living in Canada. (Sergey Lesnoy, that means Leshy, is a pen-name of Sergey Paramonov). These books exists in English and Russian variants:

Sergey Lesnoy. The originas of the Ancient "Russians". Winnipeg, 1964. (Circulation only 2 000 copies);

Lesnoy. S. Rus, otkuda ty? (Russia, where you are from?). Rostov-on-Don, 1995. (It is Russian translation of the previous book);
