Andrea Casiraghi

Andrea Alberto Pierre Casiraghi was born June 8, 1984 to Princess Caroline of Monaco and Italian businessman Stefano Casiraghi. In recent years he has emerged as a young teen pinup for royal watchers. Despite the fact that Andrea holds no royal titles, he is third in line to the throne of Monaco. However, he would have to be "adopted" by his grandfather Prince Rainier III or his uncle Prince Albert and take the family name of Grimaldi before he could succeed. As an heir, Andrea may play an important role in the future of Monaco if his uncle does not have children.

In Andrea's early life a defining moment was the death of his father Stefano Casiraghi in a 1990 speedboat racing accident. The young boy, about six years old at the time of the accident, is said to have required counseling for his grief. The family moved to a farmhouse in St.-Remy-de-Provence, France, after the death.

In recent years, Andrea has come under the microscope of public life, garnering much of the same attention his mother dealt with as a young woman. He was recently named in the American People magazine as one of "People's 50 Most Beautiful People" alongside Hollywood celebrities. He is said to enjoy sports such as soccer and long-distance running, and also collects Swatch watches. Among his less desirable habits, Andrea has been photographed smoking cigarettes in the past-- a habit he shares with his mother, stepfather, and aunt Princess Stephanie. Andrea currently attends a private school outside Paris in Fontainebleau, Lycee Jeanne D'Arc, Saint Aspais.

The marriage of his mother, Princess Caroline, to Prince Ernst August of Hanover has also made a great impact on Andrea. He is said to get along very well with his new stepfather, who bought him a motorcycle for his 13th birthday in 1997. The marriage and subsequent birth of a young sister gives Andrea a total of six siblings-- his sister Charlotte and brother Pierre, half-sister Alexandra, and stepbrothers Ernst August and Christian. As Andrea spends increasing time in the future spotlight, the support of a large family will help him cope with the notoriety that comes with being a child of a princess.

Charlotte Casiraghi, Pierre Casiraghi and Princess Alexandra of Hanover

Much less is known about Andrea’s sister Charlotte and his brother Pierre. Charlotte Marie Pomeline Casiraghi was born on August 3, 1986, and her brother Pierre Rainier Stefano Casiraghi was born on September 5, 1987. They have for many years lived with their mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco, on her farmhouse in St.-Remy-de-Provence, France. Charlotte, who bears a strong resemblence to her famous mother, is said to be interested in horses, and rides in equestrian competitions. Both the children are said to get along with their new stepfather, Prince Ernst August of Hanover, very well. Though they are shielded from the spotlight right now, as they grow older they will increasingly face the problems of living in the public eye.

The Casiraghi children have a half sister, Princess Alexandra of Hanover. She was born on July 20, 1999 in Voecklabruck, Austria to Princess Caroline of Monaco and her third husband, Prince Ernst August of Hanover. This daughter is the couple's first child together, and unlike Caroline's other children, Alexandra is the only to currently bear a royal title.

Louis Ducruet, Pauline Ducruet, and Camille Kelly

Princess Stephanie of Monaco has two children by her former husband Daniel Ducruet. The eldest, Louis Ducruet, was born on November 26, 1992, and his sister Pauline was born May 4, 1994. Both children were born out of wedlock, though their parents did later marry and divorce. The children have a baby half sister, Camille Marie Kelly, born on July 15, 1998. Camille is said to be the daughter of Princess Stephanie's former bodyguard and boyfriend Jean Raymond Gottlieb.
