Levelling Out

We sailed across a desert landscape,
But the gravel beneath us didn't make a sound.
In your hand you held an ocean / [a notion].
It was then I realized - Something didn't seem right -
No it didn't seem right.

Then I woke up - Must have been dreaming,
You were sitting on the end of the bed.
"It's alright," you said and touched my brow.
"Nothing can harm you now; because it was a dream,

Then I got up - Threw on my working clothes.
Out in the street, people wished me good day.
Then I saw the eyes staring out of the walls.
The penny falls - "My god this is a dream,
I'm still in a dream!"
