I'm trying to find some information on the history and the begginings of both the day to day and ritualistic use of alcohol & other drugs in ancient cultures for a high school class. It's proving very difficult !! Thanx for your effort. |

Leslie Langdon - 08/01/98 06:22:14 My URL:http://www.zebra.net/~llangdon/uppity.html My Email:llangdon@zebra.net | Comments: I very much like your introductory paragraphs on the main Page. I agree that ancient history is very important, but I feel that we must also look farther back - to the time before Mesopotamia became so violent and Patriarchal. We need to have more empha is on the fact that people in Mesopatamia, Canaan, Egypt, Crete, and Anatolia worshipped Goddesses as well as gods - unlike the nomadic Hebrews who came into power later, mercilessly conquered the Goddess-worshipping Canaanites, and worked very hard to tr to eliminate any remnant of Goddess-worship. On a slightly different subject (that of Universal Myths), there's a very interesting and informative website at http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/godquiz.htm |
Red Foxglove - 07/21/98 04:50:48 My Email:red_foxglove@oocities.com | Comments: I've loved ancient history since I was a child. I grew up on Greek myths and Egyptian history. One of my favorite school projects was a term paper concerning Egypt. It was so much fun doing research. One of the more interesting facts I found was the c ver up of Akhenaton (forgive my spelling), the pharoah just before King Tut. So thanks for a job well done. |

Hi! I saw your site and thought it was great. I know how difficult it is to keep a quality site. Good Job! Let me know if you want to exchange links :)
Karla Haje - 06/21/98 20:14:51 My Email:kphaje@ambr.com.br | Comments: Great site! But, it was a pity I couldn't find a simple map of the old Egypt and Mesopotamia, and also a table of hieroglyphs to show my students. The site on hieroglyphs didn't come out. Hope you fill in this gap. Thanks. |
