This is from a slide photo I took of the kitchen on the ground floor of the sisterhouse. Each floor had its own kitchen to make meals. The one luxury allowed the sisters and brothers was to have sinks in every kitchen—on every floor of the buildings. You can see here that they were carved out of stone. Water must be carried inside—but it ran out again through a hole in the sink and the outside wall. |
