This is an adjoining work room, to the left of the first kitchen photo.  Note the ink wells, books, and paper on the table.  The two doorways lead to guest rooms for female travelers, who were provided shelter but were not denied the luxuries of the day which the sisters and brothers denied themselves.  For example, the guests slept on real feather beds and pillows .  .  .
