The following two articles are memoirs from the time of the Revolution. The first is by Jan Appel, an active participant in the revolution and the second is by Otto Ruhle . Both texts detail their experiences in getting to Russia for Third International meetings, their dismay at what they found and the maneuverings of the Third International in its dealings with the KAPD. The latter document, however, shows some serious misunderstandings of Lenin's role. These will become apparent when the text is read.
