Cailleach Kassandra I'm sure by now some of you are wondering just who Cailleach Kassandra is. If you're not, than leave! Just kidding. I am a teen Pagan in Michigan. More specifically I am Wiccan. I just started practicing a few months ago, but I feel this is the right path for me. How? you ask. Well, my family is Christian, Presbyterian(sp?) actually. However my immediate family was never very religious. I never felt very spiritual as a Christian, and never felt as though I had a close personal relationship with Deity. For no apparent reason that I can think of, I was just sitting in study hall one day, and, being bored, decided to go to a few Witchie websites. Reading about the religion of Wicca it suddenly hit me. This was what I had been waiting for! It's hard to explain, but the ethics, beliefs, practices, and everything of Wicca were exactly how I wanted to think and believe. It never was that hard for me to be 'out of the broom closet'. My parents supported me and my friends really didn't care what I did as a religion that much. Of course at school it was a different matter. It just so happens the first day I wore a pentagram to school my principal told me it was an inflammatory symbol and I shouldn't wear it. Needless to say I was kind of upset. I mentioned the girl at Lincoln Park, you know the one who took her school to court? Anyways he said 'And we both know this is the only reason you are wearing that today.' Wrong!! I explained, first to our school counselor then to him (the principal) that this was my religion, and if I couldn't wear my religious symbol because of it's shape, then why could Christians and Jews wear those. THat stopped him right there. He didn't dare say people couldn't wear crosses or stars of David. Well, I can wear my pentagram freely now, so I guess it all worked out. Kids at school didn't really believe Wicca was really a religion at first I guess. I still get a little flak from the kids that go to my school, calls of 'Devil-worshipper' and the new one from Joey, 'candle-worshipper'. Justin sings the WitchCraft song, (You know 'Those glowing flowing strands of it, I've got to get my hands on it, it's witch craft.') I guess he thinks that that bothers me, but in a way it's kind of funny. They know nothing about the religion itself but still find it possible to make fun of it. I guess they are afraid of something they don't understand. Well I guess that's enough for now, until next time. Blessed Be!
April 24th Finally got around to updating my webpage! To all those reading this who think it sounds like my school sucks, well it still does. One good thing is that I don't get as much flak now as I used to. Even those who used to torment me have stopped. WIth the exception of James. He still harrases me sometimes, but I take it all in stride. It's mostly all light-hearted banter so I don't let it bother me that much. Until next time-Love and Brightest Blessings to all! |

Remember when I told you about Joey and Justin? You know, Joey is the 'candle-worshipper' boy, and Justin is the one who sings 'witchcraft'? Well, now you can see who the two fools are. Joey is the one way in back, he's kind of hard to see. He's the blonde. Justin is the red-head to the right. Just thought you might like to see what kind of people I am forced to interact with. |

This is, left to right, my sister Sarah, my dad Jim, and some guy I forgot. These are two members of my immediate family. Also, anyone who can guess what they are doing, either put it in my guestbook, or e-mail it to me. If you are right, or I find your guess funny, intriguing, or whatnot, I will give you the URL for the full picture or send the pic to you. |
