Blue-winged kookaburra, Dacelo leachii
The blue-winged kookaburra, Dacelo leachii (family ), is a large kingfisher with a streaked head and blue wings and rump. It has a characteristic extended manic laughing call which is well-known in central Cape York woodland.
This kookaburra is more familiar in the western portion of Oykangand and Olkola land than the laughing kookaburra, Dacelo novaeguineae.
