![]() Terre Solitaire has existed for a much longer time than this web page has. I created it as a refuge for my imagination-- I would dream about it in middle school, write about it in high school, and cradle a bright nostalgia for it in college. The Lonely Land is peopled with many as dear to me any person in the "real world", and equipped with many a nook for serious contemplation. Everyone holds a bright centre of being from which to understand the world, and Terre Solitaire is such a place. I've moved to Frederick, Maryland, about two years ago, and am rather lonely here in the Free State. I guess the Midwest grows on you, and the paltry, withered weeds of any other place simply refuse to take hold. The one blessing of Maryland is that I've met the most wonderful, inspiring man by happenstance, and clasped onto him, as anyone would to a treasure of worth. Luckily, he's from New York, and not -this- place. Think I can convince him to come to Indiana? Backpacking, tome-reading, heraldry, American politics, and art-- these are a few of my hobbies. Another newly-revived hobby is Dungeons and Dragons. Since the third edition came out, my brother, Neeraj, Chad, Andrew, my angellic Timothy, and I--along with sundry members of the UMBC roleplaying guild-- have been creating stories by the dozens. So far, the intense wizardress, Laurel Sylvareth, has been my other name. I'm getting the chance the roleplay a widowed, pregnant, political meddler! One doesn't do that every day. And speaking of no life, I'm also involved in Furcadia, a visual chat MUD which allows one to create almost anything to modify the world one's character exists in. Good friends like Santimonious, Ridere, Hope, and Gareth (my ic son) have allowed me to keep my sanity while 'living' there. If you ever visit, I'm Violet Sylph, otherwise infamously known as Phouka, the canal-furre and dreamweaver. Oh, and a word to the wise-- if you decide to go there, and anyone asks you to yiff, run away! My majors in college are medieval history and Latin. J.R.R. Tolkien is my hero-- he was a professor surrounded by history, and was the comsumate storyteller. Those are my two worldly ambitions: to write and to become a professor. These two designs are quite low-key, believe me! --I used to want to be the President of the United States. Hehehe. For newer news, I've finally outlined the chapters to my book, The Imperfect Pawn! It's only going to be the thing I eat, breathe, and sleep for these next few years. ;) For those who don't know, this is going to be my doctoral dissertation. My brother has complained to me that I don't have enough info here-- I thought it was more than enough, but oh well. The answers to other questions are here. All right, that's enough of my life. If you want to know anything else about me, or merely have some questions or comments on my gnarly (80's word) web page, click on that little HGG face at the bottom of this page and send me some e-mail! May the ducks be with you! ![]() |
