Invincible

I feel young and alive once again Ready to take on the world Invincible in the face of its glories and dangers Never do you feel so full of energy So full of possibilities, as a young, idealistic fool But youth and idealism are the lifeblood in my veins Even though I realize my folly I cannot help but be optimistic on a day like this Sun shining brightly after a winter of darkness Trees flowering, rebirth of the world After a long, dark, cold time Echoes the rebirth of my soul Hope, given to me by a fellow human The likes of which I have not known in an eternity Not even young love is as manic or uplifting As this feeling that has captured me Nor can the despair and cynicism of a lifetime Equal one moment of this energizing feeling Given to me for a heartbeat, a second, one frozen moment in time I know that when the moment is gone This intensity and feeling of life will fade But for now, I don't care. Life will fall like a ripened fruit into my hand And I will drain its juice.
