Well, here are the results of "picking mom's brain". Hopefully at the next family gathering (Either wedding or funeral) Ill be able to get more information.
My father, Anthony Earl Forgette Sr. was born November 9th, 1944 in Escanaba, Michigan to Earl and Bea Forgette. He is 1 of 4 boys and had 5 sisters. (9 kids!!! Holy Crap!!). He lived in Lake Zurich most of his life (that's where most of my family lives now!!), and attended St. Francis Schools, as well as the Church there.
He joined the Army in 1964 and served a tour in Vietnam from 1966-1967. He left the Army in 1968 and became a Police Officer for the Lake Zurich Police Department at that time. That's how he met Mom. Rather, he used to chase her and a girlfriend of hers out of town late at night for being pains in the asses!! They fell in love (after some drama) and married May 17th, 1969. I came along January 26th, 1970 (A good Catholic wasn't he?? haha). Unfortunately he and mom divorced in 1975.
In addition to working for the Police Department, he also worked for the Lake Zurich Paramedic Department from 1971-1977, with my Uncle. According to some of the stories I heard, he and my Uncle used to have a bit of "fun".
Dad loved playing the guitar and always went deer hunting with the Uncles (Remember I got a ton of them!!!) and Grandpa up in Michigan, Web's Apple Orchard, hell, wherever there were deer. (And not necessarily open season either). He also liked to draw. Well design homes, and designed the home in which he died in Pistakee Highlands. (Thats in McHenry, Ill. for all that dont know). He played the guitar, and like his sisters and brothers, had a wonderful singing voice. One of the songs he used to sing was "Michael Row the boat ashore".
He left behind a wife, 4 kids (Tina, Tony Jr., Michael and myself), 8 sisters and brothers, and a TON of nieces and nephews. But that was not all. He also left behind memories that I shall cherish forever. I love ya daddy.. and miss you always.
Anyway, thats about it. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
