The Provo Utah Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The Provo Temple is the busiest temple in the world. Like its twin, the Ogden Temple, the Provo temple's exterior is designed to represent the cloud that guided ancient Israel by day and the pillar of fire that guided them by night.

The temple was announced on 14 August 1967.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 15 September 1969.
The cornerstone was laid in May 1971.
The temple was dedicated 0n 9 February 1972.
There are 11 Sealing rooms and 6 Ordinance rooms in the 115,000 square foot temple.
The spire is 118 feet tall.
The Provo Temple serves stakes in central and eastern Utah.
