The St. Paul Minnesota Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The St. Paul Temple is the first to be dedicated in the new milenium, and the first temple in what will probably be the busiest year yet in temple dedications. The Church dedicated two temples in 1998, fifteen in 1999 and has about nineteen more scheduled for dedication in 2000. Before 1999 the most temples dedicated in a single year was seven in 1983.

The temple was announced on 29 July 1998.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 26 September 1998.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 9 January 2000.
There are 2 Sealing rooms and 2 Ordinance rooms in the 11,411 square foot temple.
The spire is 78 feet tall.
The St. Paul Temple serves five stakes and one mission in Minnesota, one stake in Wisconsin, and one district in Ontario Canada.
