9. Unfortunately, France is no longer in contention for the 2005 Davis Cup, however, this wealth of new talent must surely bode well for future Davis Cup campaigns?
France is out of the Davis Cup, but only after a good season which saw the incorporation of younger players. I think Forget does a great job, but I think there is still too much hesitation when it comes to putting in younger players or newer style players like Saulnier, who I think, at the beginning of the year, could have had a chance, since he was in good form (he got to the San Jose final). But, given the "reservoir" of players that we have in the top 150, we have something to be optimistic about, even if it's not always easy to challenge the top nations like Spain, the USA and Russia.

10. As the 2005 season draws to a close, what, in your opinion, was/were the highlight(s) of the year for you, from a French tennis perspective?
The French results have generally been pretty good. Gasquet, Monfils and Serra have each won a title and have improved their rankings a lot. The French players are capable of doing well in a Grand Slam match, but have difficulties stringing together back-to-back victories, even if the Grosjeans and the Mathieus are able to produce their best game every so often. We have the comeback of Clement, and the always spectacular Santoro, who does damage despite his age. Saulnier started off well but, as of Spring, has suffered a slump. Llodra has been disappointing, playing very much below his level both in singles and doubles.

11. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have dominated men's tennis this year. Who do you think will be able to challenge them in 2006?
It's hard to say who will be able to challenge Federer and Nadal since they're so strong. But I think the level of men's tennis is so high at the moment that, in one match, anything can happen. Now, in a whole season, it's difficult to follow their rhythm. Obviously Safin (if he's not injured), Hewitt, Roddick or Agassi all spring to mind, but a new wave of players has arrived: Berdych, Blake, Ginepri, Nieminen and many others. I don't think we've finished seeing surprises yet and I think we'll discover some new players in 2006.
