In loving memory of Robert Augustine Sr. |
My father, Robert Aaugustine Sr. was born November 5 1952. He was a Greaser from Chicago who grew up hard and was extremely street smart. Friends and family knew him as Augie, which was short Augustine. This was not just any nickname, it was a nickname that had to be earned. My father earned this nickname with blood, sweat and tears but most of all with heart, like his father, Albert Augustine. Out of his seven children, I was the closest to him. I've been at my father's |
side for 32 years, through the good times and the bad. He was not only my father but also my friend and partner. All the wisdom I have today is from him. My father was a very giving man, if he had only one shirt he would give it to you off his back and ask for nothing in return, especially when it came to family. Even after my parents divorce, my Father still |

had love for my Mom and her family. The night before he passed he said he allways held Mom high up on a pedestal and that she was the best thing that ever came into his, Ashley, Jackie, and Jessie's life. My father also told me that he loved his brothers and sisters, and how it hurt him to not be able to spend all the time he wanted with them. I also remember him telling me how much he missed his Mother and Father. When they passed part of him passed too. Although he had Me, Eric |
Jody, Jennifer, Ashley, Jackie, Jessie and Mom a part of him still felt lonely. Dad and I would stay up for hours just talking about the past and also the future. I knew Dad's likes and dislikes, what he wanted in life and in death. Our recent talks were about death. Dad knew he was dying but just didn't know when. He did not want to die a painfull death, and in my heart, I know God took him peacefully in his sleep, He let me |
