A World of Imagination I hope that you
enjoy your stay at my Rose Cottage Page.

Hi and Welcome to my bit of Avonlea & Me

It is a wonderful thing that we can go to
Avonlea even if its in our hearts and
dreams and our imagination.

This is the Road to Avonlea Series.

This series is by Sullivan entertainment and
based by a great author, Lucy Maud Montgomery,
famous novel our beloved
*Anne of Green Gables*.
The set is located on Prince Edward Island,
Canada in 1903-1912.

A small town called Avonlea with red
sand along the North shores of the beach.
The adventure lasted 7 years and had
91 episode and has been shown in 140
countries and over a million of
viewers around the world. I do think that
Lucy Maud Montgomery would
have been pleased.

This is Hetty King the oldest of 5 children.
When her mother died at an early age
Hetty had to care for her 2
brothers and 2 sisters.

This is Avonlea's old one room
school house where Hetty taught
for many years.

This is the red road of Avonlea.
And the buildings of yesteryears and the
deep blue sky.

I have many favorite quotes from
Road to Avonlea, here are just a few.
Memento Mori From her novel

"My Home is the Island"

Memento Mori

"I'll never forget the days of my youth.
When the waves rippled between my toes,
taking the pink and silver
grains of sand back out to the
depths of the sea.
There was a peace then; an
indescribable feeling of immortality
in the flow of the tide, and
the seemingly endless stretch
of the beach and sky.
Now as I gaze out upon those same
sparkling waters, I realize that
youth is never left behind,
but is carried always,
gently in the hearts."

So Dear to My Heart

Ladies and Gentlemen, today on this days, the most
courageous young women came to visit me, and I
learned something valuable from her.
You see I'd been fretting and fuming over the
changes sweeping over our little town
and changes is enevituable course it is.
People will leave out town and some may
have to, but Avonlea will never vanish.
Gus and Felicty well be staying here
to carry on with the Foundlling Home and
one day start a family of their own
perhaps, but wherever they go, all
the young people of Avonlea, the memory of
this place, the people, the land, the sea,
these things will never before gotten
but will remain in their hearts for ever.
And so I'll ask you all know to raise your
glass and join me in a toast, to the
bride and groom to friends and love ones,
near and afar, that wherever you wonder, whatever
glorious adventures lie ahead of you, you
can rest easy knowing you've a place to
come home to,

The Dearest Spot on Earth...
