Just Between Friends

by Ayesha Haqqiqa

Synopsis: Two women become friends, only to find that they are sleeping with the same man, Chip Davis. One woman, Holly, is the man’s wife; the other, Sandy, is his mistress. After the Chip’s death, Holly discovers his infidelity, and Sandy discovers she is pregnant.

Sam’s Performance: Sam is very good in this small supporting part. He plays Harry, who is the friend of Chip and the two women in his life. After Chip’s death, Harry courts Holly and supports Sandy by being her Lamaz coach. He goes from being clean shaven to bearded in the film, and looks quite handsome in the few scenes he has. You are left wishing they had shown more of him with Holly and with Sandy.

Must-see scene: Actually, it is a must-hear scene. Sam sings in his first scene, and he has a lovely, if untrained, voice!

Rating:

Ratings are from 1 Sam (you won’t want to sit through the film once) to 5 Sams (you’ll want to buy it and watch it over and over!)

3 Sams

The rating is low not because of Sam’s performance but because of his lack of screen time.
