Miracle at Midnight
by Ayesha Haqqiqa |
Synopsis: This film tells the story of how the Danish
people helped hide Danish Jews from the Nazis during World War II. It follows the story of one family, a doctor,
his wife, and his son and daughter, and tells what happens to them as they try
to help their Jewish friends. |
 |
Sams performance: Sam plays the part of the doctor
to the hilt. He is excellent as the
family man, as the head of the hospital, and as organizer of a resistance
movement which foils the Nazis attempts to deport all Danish Jews. He uses an
accent which is quite good. His facial expression when he realizes his wife
must go with the Nazis makes the whole movie.
Must See Scene: When Sam gets his children on the
boat and heads for Sweden. The Nazis
are there, and bullets fly. There is a
problem with one boat, and you wonder for a while if everyone will be able to
escape.
Rating:
1 Sam means you wont be able to sit through the movie
once; 5 Sams means youll want to buy the film and watch it over and over again. |
