Man in the Moon

Synopsis: This is really a coming of age story of two sisters. Sam plays their father, Matthew Trent, a Louisiana farmer.
Sam's Performance: Sam always shines when he plays a parent. In this film, we see him at his best as he deals with his pregnant wife and two of his daughters who are coming of age and are in love with the same boy. He is a kindly man, and deeply caring--and this is shown best in the must-see scenes.
Must-see scenes: There are two of them. One is the scene where he whips his daughter for causing her mother to fall and injure herself. The other is the scene when he comes back from the neighbor�s farm, and he has to break some terrible news to his girls.
