Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad

From Sam Waterston: The Busiest, Most Unappreciated Young Leading Man Around by Neal Weaver, After Dark, December 1968:

"I got a job understudying the role of the boy in Oh Dad, Poor Dad, and then played the role in the national tour directed by Gerald Freedman. Then I came back to town and Gerry cast me as Silvius in his production of As You Like It in Central Park. I did the Oh, Dad, Poor Dad, revival..."

From Current Biography, September 1985:

"Waterston made his New York debut at the Phoenix Theater late in 1962, when he took over the role of Jonathan Rosepettle, the sheltered adolescent son in Arthur Kopit's zany black comedy, Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad. He then played the part on a national tour and, beginning in August 1962, on Broadway. His touching portrayal of the stammering, overprotected, youth generated sympathy as well as laughter, and, perhaps more important, brought him to the attention of Broadway and off-Broadway producers and directors."
