After the picnic, we had dinner in an italian restaurant. there i met one more sempai from laos. i spent my first night in nagoya in eng hai's apartment with my sempai dina. do you know guys what time we slept. 2 am! did a lot of talking. and watched a movie also. great movie, eng hai. the next day, we toured nagoya castle, higashiyama koen, and oasis (which is the new bus terminal in nagoya). good architecture. there is a promenade (a place where you can stroll and watch the city from a vantage point) on top of the station. the promenade is designed to look like a spaceship and made of glass and steel. so when you look up to the promenade you can actually see through the glass flooring. the central part of the flooring is filled with water such that when sunlight passes through the flooring, you can see a beautiful play of light below. finally, we had to get our bus tickets for home. i hope you guys remembered to greet wisnu a happy birthday last may 4. we celebrated his birthday with a dinner at his dormitory. hilda, dina, chicheng, jo, eng hai and me were there to celebrate his birthday with him. |
again,
they cooked for us. hild also cooked filipino food. in keeping with our ayf
shuukan, we bought wisnu a birthday cake and a gift. at around 11pm,
chicheng, wisnu, jo and i went to nagoya u by bicycle. by the way, chicheng
bought a 12,000 en bike. that was her first time to ride it. good rider for
a first timer, i would say. nagoya u is very nice. our nagoyan friends were
quite proud to show off their university. we did a lot of picture taking,
talking, and telephone calling. thanks to jeab, ali, net, kosal, and helen
for not minding our late calls. it was really nice to hear from you again.
we miss you, you know that i'm sure. i went back home by bus via tokushima
with dinasan. less expensive and had more time to talk to my sempai. now i
am back in the laboratory. yesterday i had a full day doing experiments. till next vacation, ne. till next time, nagoyans. thank you. always, tony |
