The first completed restoration can be seen here along with a standard class V preparation on the second tooth. Make this second preparation 4 mm wide, 2 mm high and center it on the c.e.j. You will place composite over a glass ionomer liner in this preparation. Do not initally place an enamel bevel--this will be completed after the glassionomer liner has been cured |

Mix one level scoop of Vitrebond powder with one drop of Vitrebond liquid on the coated mixing pad provided with the Vitrebond package. Use the small ball end of the PICH (placement instrument for calcium hydroxide, Birtles spatula) to transfer the mixed Vitrebond to the preparation. Cover all of the internal dentin surfaces. Fuji II LC could also be used as the "liner" under the composite layer. |
Light cure the Vitrebond for 60 seconds. Now place an enamel bevel. Waiting until after liner placement insures that the beveled surface will be clean (free of tooth colored GI liner that is hard to detect). Etch the enamel normally. It is not necessay to etch the surface of the Vitrebond. Apply the Optibond Solo Plus and cure in a normal fashion. The selected shade of composite should be placed and cured in two additional increments. |

Procedures for curing, contouring, finishing and polishing are the same as you used for the class V composite. |
