Whenever the thought comes to me, I often say to myself: "How strange
it is".

I have seen Muslims, whose mother tongue is not Arabic, and they
often boast that they have completed the recitation of Quran so many
times, and feel, as if they have earned great ajar (Indeed, there's
ajar for recitation itself).
But, Holy Quran was revealed unto Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) in Arabic
language, and his mother tongue was Arabic, and of course the
language of Arabs was Arabic. No doubt, as the revelations came down,
he used to comprehend, and people too used to understand, whenever
Quranic verses were recited or read. People used to weep/cry when
those many verses struck their ears, and many accepted Islam, at the
very hearing of Quranic verses. (Example: the acceptance of Islam by
Hazrath Umar (RAA)
For instance, if an illeterate person receives mail/telegram/letter
from his/her beloved, then would he/she would aspire/get restless to
know its content...he/she would run here and there or search someone
who can read out the contents for him/her...!!!
Allah (SWT) is addressing to the mankind through Holy Quran, and its
full of glad tidings, admonition, warnings, and at places "direct
communication". The strange thing is: "Majority read/recite Holy
Quran (in Arabic) but never ponders by questioning 'What's in the
Quran'. The very thought never gets into their mind that they have to
understand Quran, in their own mother tongue, and for that they have
to get the translated copy of Quran.
Holy Quran is for recitation, but then it is also for understanding,
comprehending, pondering, .........and all this thought activity can
happen when one understands the true meaning of Quranic verses.
Otherwise, it's absurd, and for this reason, majority of Muslims are
just
"Muslims by chance, and not by choice".
Strange again: for a completion of graduation, an individual has to
undergo 15 years of study (i.e. L.K.G + U.K.G. + 10 years of
Matriculation + 2 years Intermediate level + 3 years of graduation).
During those years, one has to go through scores of books, so we can
say thousands of pages.

But, such a strange thing concerning those non-Arab muslims (whose
mother tongue is not Arabic), that they dare not to obtain translated
Quran so that they can understand its message while reciting
simultaneosly in Arabic.
MAY ALLAH GUIDE US ALL TO RIGHT PATH....... AMEEN
