HUMEN   RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN BALOCHISTAN

 

·        7 Jan 2000.Justice of Balochistan High Court, justice Mohammed Nawaz Marri was killed near the governor         house and court building, no one arrested at the moment, suspected that the Military Government agencies killed him.

·        2 Feb 2000. 80 persons were killed by Drought in Arranji Tehsil Wadh Dist Khuzdar Balochistan.

·        8 March 2000. Quetta, an Hindu trader killed by dacotes.

·        19 April 2000. Drougt hit areas of Chagi, Kharran, Bolan, Kalat, and Jel Magssi.

·        25 April 2000. Tow power full Bomb blasted at commissioner (Quetta) office, and in Chief secretary office at   Provincial civil secretariat Quetta.

·        27 April 2000. Military personals and district police Quetta took an inhuman action against the political activists             of PMAP, seven innocent activist killed by police firing.

·        4 May 2000.Seven hundred thousand livestock and more than 90 people were killed by the drought in Balochistan. Federal government and other agencies are not taking effective steps to help the drought effectees.

·        5 May 2000. HRCP claims that the government agencies are not taking intrust to provide ration and other basic needs to the drought effects of Balochistan.

·        14 May 2000. HRCP calls for relief in drought effected areas of Balochistan.

·        3 August 2000.         HRCP ASKED FOR JOINT ELECTRORATE IN LOCAL BODIES ELECTION.

·        8 September 2000.       5000 religious students (Taliban) of Balochistan killed in Afghanistan.

·        21 September 2000.    6 persons killed in Lorali Balochistan by Congo virus.

·        23 September 2000.   Death tool increased to 14 people by Congo virus and also due to un adequate heath facilities.

·        13 October 2000. HRCP conference held on Quetta asked for restoration of democracy and return of army in to the barracks.

·        15 October 2000. Ex Chief Minister Balochistan and chief of Magsi tribe Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi was arrested against the charges of corruption.

·        17 October 2000. Ex provincial minister Mr. Bahram Achakzi was sentenced of Seven-year imprisonment and 10 million rupees fine by the Local Accountability court that are functioning under the Military instruction.

·        30 October 2000. Human Rights commission of Pakistan rejected the devolution plan of military regime and asked for complete Provincial autonomy.

·         31 October 2000. Ex Minister Mohammed Ali Rind was arrested and sentenced of ten years imprisonment in charge of corruption.

·         7 November 2000. A power full mine blast occurred in Kolu three killed and two injured.

·        8 November 2000. A coal mine collapsed in Lorallai two laborers killed several injured.

·        11 November 2000. In Quetta, provincial capital of Balochistan unemployed MBBS doctors protested against the government, District administration and police took inhuman and crucial measures beaten up and arrested the male and female doctors.

·        14 November 2000. Baloch Students Organization along with PONM students alliance stage a powerful Protest against the appointment of Punjabi Retired Military man as pro vice chancellor in Balochistan University.

·        31 November 2000. Balochistan high Court rejects the bail application of 75-year-old Nawab Khair Bux Khan Marri, veteran political and tribal Baloch leader.

·        5 December 2000. Rockets fired on Quetta cant, one person killed, Baloch Liberation Army accepted the responsibility.

·         Military government announced to decrease the number of Districts from 26 to 22, and also changed the boundaries of several Districts.

·        21 December 2000. Firing of custom officials, one man Haji Shair Ahamed was killed. BNP protested against the Punjabi atrocities.

·        22 December 2000.  BSO and PONM students alliance announce examinations boycott against the appointment of pro vice chancellor.

·        23 December 2000. First phase of devolution plan failed, number of candidates was less against the local bodies available seats.         

·        27 December 2000. Another rocket hit Quetta cant, two killed. B L A accepted the attack.

·        1 Jan 2000 one killed and 5 injured in bomb blast at Kohlu. None arrested

·        2 Jan 2000 Rocket attack on Sui gas field no injuries reported

·        2 Jan 2000 Notification issued to abolish DISTRICT Barkan, Bolan, Musa Khail and Jaferabad.and also many changes were made in Quetta,Loralie,Sibi district

·        4 Jan 2000 Mr. bismillah Khan Kaker was sentenced four years imprisonment on the charges of corruption

·        4 Jan 2000 From 12 cot to now 7 Ex ministers were sentenced on the charges corruption by Athsab Court

·        7 Jan 2000 Jaundice in Sibi: due to inadequate health facilities three girls died of jaundice

·        8 Jan 2000 BNP Mangle says that there is no reason for military governmentt to exist after the exile of Nawaz Sharif      

·        9 Jan 2000. A coalmine collapsed 9 people injured.

·        10 Jan 2000. Former chief minister of Balochistan, Sardar Akther Mangle and member of suspended national assembly of Pakistan, Mr. Sana Baloch condemned the abolition of district and regarded it an open conspiracy against Balochistan, and demanded for restoration of Districts.
