It’s just too bad, there are only a few OVAs. The Anime gives no information about the actual plot. It doesn’t say anything about the story of the Spear of Beasts, Tora’s past, Ushio’s mother and of course Hakumen no Mono and many of the main characters, who will follow later in the Manga, don’t even appear. For those who only know the OVA, there are still many questions.
The OVAs are a relative close adoption of the stories in the Manga. Only little things had been changed for the Anime. Yet at the end of OVA # 8 some very important thing is missing. In the Manga, there is a part where Ushio is talking to Umizatou (the Seamonk), after they defeated Ayakashi. From Umizatou Ushio hears his mother is still alive (after that Ushio sets out to find his mother). In the OVA this part had been left out. The story of OVA # 4 about the monster Tsubura who kidnappes Asako doesn’t appear in the Manga. This story had been thought up only for the Anime. |
