Vol. 21

Summary

The monsters of Japan are ruled by two deans: the lord of the West and the lord of the East. Certain about being able to defeat the power of Ushio and remove the barrier, which had been erected by Ushio’s mother, they move with the rivals to attack Hakumen no Mono, who rests on the bottom of the sea. If the barrier has to fall, the whole Japan will sink. If the lord of the West can count on an army of monsters, leaded by three new sickle-weasels, then the lord of the East has his Hitotsuki, leader of the monsters of Toono and Kagari, Raishin and Izuna as well. These last three guys are the ones, who ask for Ushio’s help, so he will attack along with Tora, to save their dean. Shinno, the lord of the West sends on ahead his three new sickle-weasels to beat Ushio and his Spear. Meanwhile Nagare, Hitotsuki, Raishin, Kagari, Izuna and Ibuki – the eagle of the sky – are on their way to Takachiho, where is the residence of Shinno. On their way they meet numerous monsters of the West, which attack them, to hinder them from moving on. Hitotsuki is left to fight against the cruel Shibumori, the snake-god, while Tora, Raishin and Kagari counter the three mighty sickle-weasels in a clash, which takes a big part in this edition. So the journey is being continued, heading for the destination of Ushio, Ibuki and Izuna. Arriving at their destination, they find themselves in front of a hugh fortress, which towers into the sky and had been built so that it challenges every law of physics. The citadel seems to be abandoned; there is no one, Ushio and his allies meet no one, who receives them. Nevertheless they couldn’t avert, Izuna falling at Ushio’s feet heavily wounded. So Shinno appears and the battle between him and our rightful owner of the Spear just begun...
