| Vol. 27 Summary Meanwhile all memory of the friends of Ushio and Tora had been erased by Hakumen no Mono’s monsters. Ushio feels lonely. None of his friends remembers him and he just can’t explain, why it is so. He calls at home, to talk to his father, but there nobody picks up the phone. So Ushio decides to go home right away. When he arrives there, he see, that the ground of Fugen-In swarms with soldiers, who blocked everything and Ushio thinks, something could have happened to his father. Of course none of them believes Ushio, he is Shigure’s son. They try to arrest him, but Ushio tear off and storms towards the temple and opens the doors. There he sees his father turned to stone, just like all of the other monks, who are in the temple, Moritsuna, Hinowa and Nigira as well! Ushio is horrified and believes a monster must have done this. The soldiers overpower him, take the Spear of the Beasts away from him and lock into a car. Ushio doesn’t know anymore, what he should do. He just doesn’t understand, what happened and thinks, he is all alone now… At this moment someone breaks up the door of the car and Tora stays in front of him. At first Ushio is happy seeing Tora, but then he suddenly realizes, to Tora could have happened the same, like to Asako and the others; he doesn’t remember him anymore and this would be fatal. But then Tora says: “You’re making a face like on a funeral… Ushio!”… Ushio is overjoyed, at least Tora remembers him. But meanwhile the soldiers discovered them and Ushio calls the Spear, so they can get away. They are on the way to Mayuko. Arriving there they meet Asako as well, but not only her, but also the monsters of the West and the East kidnapping the two girls and Ushio and Tora can’t do anything against it. The two don’t know, why they kidnapped the girls, all Tora knows is, they want to sacrifice Mayuko for something…! When Ushio and Tora try to follow the monsters, they get attacked by Raishin and Kagari, who hinder Ushio and Tora from following the monsters and heavy wound them. Lucky they are just at the house of Saya and Mamori, who take care of their wounds. While Ushio is still unconsciousness, he has a dream: The Spear of the Beasts shatter into thousand pieces! Much to Ushio’s amazement Saya didn’t lost her memory about him, because she and Mamori created a barrier, which hinders the monster getting to her. She tells him, Hakumen no Mono has serving monster, which eat the memory of humans and monsters. The force of Hakumen no Mono is the fear, which bothers humans and monsters. The more humans and monsters fear him, all the bigger becomes the force he sucks out of his victims. This is the secret of Hakumen no Mono. But Hakumen wasn’t calm. The object, which doesn’t fear the monster, is the Spear of the Beasts, constructed to fight Hakumen and Ushio Aotsuki, the one who is destined to tear the monsters to pieces and the monster, which hates Hakumen; Tora, the invincible, who is now fighting with him. With some certain method of them they accomplish the connection between humans and monsters. The have born the hope of a victory against Hakumen no Mono. Hakumen no Mono has to accept this fact. The hope gives him less force back. But Hakumen no Mono has a plan: If he returns, all humans, who live in this country, even the happy ones, will have enormous fear only by looking at him! Then he’ll live on the terror of whole Japan. He will become even stronger and powerful, at least two or three times. Ushio asks Saya, how she could possibly now all this and she tells him Tokisaka, the mirror who travels through the time, has told her all this. Tokisaka says, Hakumen no Mono intention was it to let every inhabitant of this country feel the fear. But a boy and a monster have stopped him form realizing his plan. All the ones, who had seen these two fighting during the last year, knew it. The people have followed their fights very interested. The people, they saved, have never forget these two again and now deep in their heart they knew, monsters aren’t invincible! Hakumen no Mono wasn’t really happy about that. Even if it’s Ushio, he will show himself in all his power, as long as the people have this thought. As long as the people trust in Ushio and Tora, the fear can turn into hope! That’s why Hakumen no Mono has engaged the monsters, who eat the memory, to let humans and monsters fall in their desperation. This way they won’t forget their fear… Ushio slowly starts to understand now, but wants to know, they the monsters of the West and the East kidnapped the two girls. Tokisaka says, he tried to cross time. He wanted to arrive at the moment of the final battle against Hakumen no Mono, to know his weak point and his strategy. Acting on the deans behalf, he tried many time, but also failed many times. He tried hard and he finally crossed the tension. Then he went to see the final battle. And he saw, the card of triumph against Hakumen no Mono… the only weapon, which can defeat the monsters…, shatter into thousand pieces! Tokisaki told the dean and the other monsters about it. Without the Spear of the Beasts it’s not possible to defeat Hakumen no Mono. The Spear is necessary. The sister of the Spear former, Jiemei, sacrificed her life to create the Spear of the Beast, which is destined to defeat Hakumen no Mono, the murderer of their parents. The reason why the kidnapped Mayuko is, because she is a descendant of Jiemei! After Tokisaka told the monsters about the destruction of the Spear, all their hopes of a victory had been burned. Fear and desperation filled them. They decided to form a new Spear. So they had to beat a metal, in which the descendant of Jiemei had sacrificed herself…! Ushio and Tora are on the way to the fortress, which floats above Toono, to save the girls. In this fortress are Asako and Mayuko, locked in a barrier of Kazuchi. For the monsters the time has now come, to sacrifice Mayuko. They tell her, they have to form a Spear out of her flesh. But Asako refuses and tries to defend her, but they knock her down. To protect Asako, Mayuko instinctively uses her congenital forces, she always had as a descendant of Jiemei and with these forces she is even able to break the barrier of Kazuchi. At this moment Jiemei appears, to stop the monsters from sacrificing the life of Mayuko for a new Spear of the Beast. But they don’t listen to hear, tell her, they need a new Spear for the battle against Hakumen no Mono and for thtis Jiemei’s descendant Mayuko Inoue serves them…! Jiemei tries to make clear, their friend Ushio is the one, who has to lead the Spear against Hakumen no Mono an that he would be so sad, if they’d kill one of his friends, but the monster just won’t listen. Asako won’t allow, that anything happens to her beloved and best friend. So she asks Jiemei, if it wouldn’t be possible to create the Spear with a normal person as well, who isn’t a descendant of Jiemei and Jiemei answers in the affirmative. So Asako asks the monster to sacrifice her instead of Mayuko and they accept! Mayuko wants to stop her, but Kagari holds her back. Meanwhile Ushio and Tora arrived, just in the moment, when Asako stands in front of the kiln and is ready to jump in it. Ushio runs to hear, but she already jumped. So that Asako won’t have to loose her life just like Jiemei, he jumps in the kiln as well, below her and holds her out of the embers. The Spear of the Beasts saves their life by destroying the kiln, but as well Ushio as Asako are really heavy burned. The monsters are full of rage, won’t let them go so easily and attack Tora and the heavy wounded Ushio. Mayuko uses her forced to get Ushio, Tora and Asako out of there. Kagari, who can’t take all this anymore and who has pity on Ushio and Asako, turns against the monsters and pours her medicine over the two. Jiemei flees with Mayuko as well. Suddenly the floating fortress is being attacked by Guren and his Black Fires. Jiemei says, that it seems like the medicine of Kagari would works, but Asako is still in danger of her life and because of that she has to be treated immediately. So Ushio hands over the unconscious Asako to Mayuko, Tora and Jiemei and stays help the monsters fight against Guren…! |
