About this site:
In 1988 Lute Olson took the Arizona Wildcats to the Final Four for the
first time.
Although they didn't make it to the championship game that year, the
program has gone
on to be one of the most successful in the NCAA recently. In
1997, Olson's Wildcat
team accomplished the pinnacle of college Division 1 basketball by
winning the
National Championship over Kentucky at Indianapolis.
Since the years following that first Final Four appearance, many Arizona
players have gone on to exhibit their skills in the NBA. I have been
collecting the basketball cards of these
players since that time. This site is one method of finding by
way of trading or buying those cards I am looking for.
I have been trading online since 1994 with hundreds of successful buys/sells/trades.
I have a positive feedback rating of about 500 on eBay and 100 on Yahoo.
I recently began using a trading newsgroup and have a few successful trade
points there as well. I can offer many quality references if needed,
and would expect the same for any large trades.
I have many more basketball cards available for trade and since many of the players I collect are 'commons', I have no problem with finding the same for others. And unlike many others, I will trade 'stars' for commons if I need what you have. Send for my want list or send me your want list of players you're looking for. I also have many football cards available for trade, including some older, vintage cards. A friend of mine owns the largest sports card shop in the vicinity and I have access to literally millions of cards.
I will entertain any offers, however, please don't expect trades for
hotter rookies or higher
dollar cards for common cards, if not a reasonable trade. I also
don't generally like to trade one high dollar card for several of lesser
value, even though they may equal the higher one.
Almost all of the cards I have are near mint or better, except for my vintage cards. Please ask for any cards' exact description or I can email a scan. Please let me know if cards being sent to me are not at least near mint.
For those familiar with the sports card market, it coincidentally has
paralleled the tremendous
explosion of sports cards since 1990. As an example, Sean Elliott
was the third pick in the first round of the 1989 draft and had 4 NBA cards
issued that year. More recently, Michael Dickerson was the 11th pick
of the 1998 draft, and I lost count after 61 cards issued his first year.
This does not include the 'draft pick' cards, of which probably would double
that number.
I have thousands of cards and even with computers to keep track of
them all, I often end up with several extras or missing 'easy' issues that
are not hard to find. This combined with the many confusing parallel
issues of recent years, makes it a good idea to send me a list of what
you may have, including card numbers and a brief description so I may evaluate
my needs.
I do collect older, not as well-known players from the U of A, such as Eric Money, and Larry Demic, and will continue to look for players such as Tom Tolbert and Khalid Reeves, that are now ending their NBA careers. Any cards I do not have are always a welcome addition to my collection.
Kenny Lofton, although presently better known for his baseball skills of fielding, hitting, and base stealing, was a part of the early rising of the U of A team of the late 80s. Since I've limited my collection to former basketball players, he fits the criteria. I have many of his cards to trade.
Tony Clark, now playing in MLB, was on the Arizona basketball team briefly, but because of injury, he saw little actual playing game time. My interest in collecting his cards is minimal.
The following list are items I would like to trade for. If you
can find nothing on my site or can suggest nothing in trade, please send
me your best delivered price as well as the card(s) condition. Due
to error or late website updates, please check with me before sending any
cards. Cards with a ? are not known to exist or I don't have
the number yet. Any verification is appreciated. If you see
something on my list you want but can't find anything from my list to trade,
I always accept cards with trade value to then trade again. So it
never hurts to ask.
Kenny Lofton: Ask for current list or send what you have.
