Bought the car in 1990 and has been working on it since.
Registered it 10-6-2004.
We had to design aluminum supports to firm up the bonnet over the
engine and front of the car because of the flimsyness.
We built a rollbar between the engine compartment and the seats,
but you can not see it because we encased it into the "firewall". Yes,
there is no room behind the seats. We sprayed the inside of the engine bonnet, note
the black, with rock guard to give it more stability and weight of course.
The front of the car has an aluminum foamed racing gas tank,
along with the radiator and A/C equipment. Believe it or not, it feels real solid on the
ground up front. We thought about putting the wheelie bars on it like a dragster, but the
general concensus was it was not needed unless it was to be raced, not by me!
We had a digital dash made for it, looks nice. Bought a new
windshield from a manufacture in England. It was what you would use for a Lamborghini
Muria P-400-S. It fit fair, but had to have some build up of fiberglass to make it right.
I was lucky, the person who did the body work, etc. used to own a
shop that worked on exotics, he is excellant.
All the wiring from the FF factory was trashed, all new and hi
test. Large stainless braded hoses run from the engine to the radiator. Note all the
chrome for the corvette rear axles, starter alternator, pan and exhaust system, in
part. The car has about 1 mile on it, i.e. brand new. |
