Patrol Leaders Minutes, Page 2: 4/20/08: - Have about $2500 in bank, $1300 is currently reserved for Scout accounts. - The intruders need a kitchen. Quartermaster needs helpers to determine exact needs. - We don't have enough time to plan a Roosevelt trip this year. - During the Cub Bridging campout, work on rank advancement for Scouts. - We need to find adults for Summer Camp. Need a minimum of two per evening. Also need drivers. - Need to ask adults to help with merit badge classes. - Need a Court of Honor before, and after Summer Camp. - Need a fundraiser (Pancake Breakfast?) in October or March? - Discipline needs to be enforced. 1/13/08 - Still planning on going to Mt. Lemmon for the day if there is snow. Scouts will need to pack their own lunches. - Scout Sunday - Scouts will make chili for between services. - Roosevelt Lake - Still need a parent to volunteer to organize this. - Patrol Campouts - Patrols are invited to camp on their own. July, September, October, Novembert, December are still open. - Fundraising ideas - Pancake Breakfasts, Easter Egg Hunt, Raffle, Movie Night - Games - Need better organized games - Budget - Discussed budget. Suggested purchase of additional camping gear. 12/2/07 Troop Meetings: - Changed format of Troop Meetings - 10 minutes flags/announcements - 20 minutes Patrol Activities - 35 minutes Merit Badge/Rank Advancement - 20 minutes games - 05 minutes Closing Camping - January day camp in some mountain range (Instead of Campout at Mt. Lemmon) - April Caving - June Summer Camp - Picacho Peak hike decision later... probably spring. - May - Roosevelt Lake if we have parent volunteers for Merit Badge Activities Venture Crew: - Donate one patrol chuckbox Fundraiser Ideas: - Taco Bar - Pizza Dinner - Build your own burrito - Pool Party - Bingo Night Other: - If a person misses two meetings, they may be demoted, unless there is a good reason for their absence. 10/14/07 Goals for PLC: - All boys should be Second Class Scouts by March. - Would like to work on the following Merit Badges: Computers, Citizenship in the Community, Personal Fitness, Fundraising: - If we do not earn enough money to pay for a fundraising activity, then the difference will come out of the troop general fund. We will consider another fundraiser to make up the difference. - Scouts may designate working at a fundraising activity as a "community service" project, if they do not accept payment for the time worked. These funds will be divided among the other working Scouts. Scouts need to choose if they are working for money, or community service prior to the event. Venture Crew: - Will not donate either of the trailers to the crew. - Will not donate any equipment to the Venture Crew. - Will donate $167 to Venture Crew for startup money. ($167 is 1/6 of unrestricted money in the bank at this time. 1/6 of our troop are Venture Crew.) Equipment: - We need more kitchens and supplies, but no more additional tents at this time. Winter Camp: - Prefer to stay at the dining hall, rather than in the staff cabins. Suggest we buy heaters to keep warm. Troop Meetings: - Changed format of Troop Meetings - 10 minutes flags/announcements - 20 minutes games - 15 minutes Patrol Activities - 40 minutes Merit Badge/Rank Advancement - 05 minutes Closing - Also chose patrols to be responsible: -- October: Games - Wisemen, Flags - Shark Attack, Setup - Black Hawks, Cleanup - Woodchucks. -- November: Games - Woodchucks, Flags - Wisemen, Setup - Shark Attack, Cleanup - Black Hawks -- December: Games - Black Hawks, Flags - Woodchucks, Setup - Wisemen, Cleanup - Shark Attack Next PLC: - November 11th.
