Our story of the rather brilliant 7 year old starts in year AC 189, when Leia Barton, daughter of Dekim Barton, leader of the Barton foundation, gives birth to her first and only child, Mariemaia Barton. The assumed father is to be Treize Khushrenada, whom Leia met in the hospital she worked in when he was injured in his victorious battle against the rebels. The same year as Mariemaia's birth, her not apparent grandfather, Dekim, is reported to have been killed during the battle. Two years later, Leia dies of an illness, and from here, we assume that Mariemaia continues to live in the new colony, with an unknown guardian.

In AC 194, a nameless soldier, trained by Dr. J, one of the creator of the five main Gundams in the series, undergoes extensive training for his Operation Meteor. He carries out a mission, which is to blow up the alliance based inside the colony that Mariemaia is said to live in since her mother's death. While setting the bombs, the soldier meets a small girl and her dog. The plan goes wrong slightly later that day and accidently causes several civilian casulties. The soldier discovers the girl's dog dead, and assumes the little girl was also a death among others. He buries the dog, and Dekim Barton orders Dr. J to retrain the boy, saying that emotions like kindness cause weakness and must be eliminated.

In AC 196, Relena, now a deputy Foreign Minister of the Earth Sphere United Nation, is abducted on her way to colony L3-X18999. Responsible for her abduction, for her first appearance, is Mariemaia Khushrenada. However, after much conversation, it is clear to the wiser Relena that she is mearly a puppet for Dekim Barton, Mariemaia's new found relative and current guardian, so he can complete his second plan for total domination ot the Earth Sphere. His first plan was that of the bginning of Operation Meteor, when Dekim's son, the real Trowa Barton, was supposed to have gone to Earth, help the other Gundam pilots in their missions, and then wipe out both pilots and the Gundams, while his father was taking control of the government. With the unapparent death of his son, the plan failed, and Dekim wanted to give it another shot, this time manipulating his grand-daughter by revealing her father's identity. After learning of Relena's abduction, Heero and Duo decide to investigate and send Quatre to recuperate the Gundams, while Trowa learns of Dekim's plans and decides to stop him. However, while trying to kill Dekim, he is stopped by Wufei, who has joined Mariemaia's forces.

On December the 25th, Christmas Day, Heero and Duo later arrive at X-18999, and they meet up with Wufei and Trowa, who fake battle to let them infiltrate the colony. Meanwhile, Mariemaia is declaring war on the ESUN and traveling to Earth with Relena. At the same time, a lonely Mobile Suit, piloted by Zechs Merquise, now a ESUN agent, approaches the asteriod MO-III, where Mariemaia's forces prepare for their aasault on Earth to destory it. Dekim warn Zechs if he interferes in any way, he will destroy Earth, so Zechs backs off.

Mariemaia's forces decend on Brussels, the ESUN's capital, where Mariemaia, her grandfather, and Relena go into a huge, armoured bunker. Meanwhile, Zechs and Noin try, with no success, to stop Mariemaia's Mobile Suit troops, until Heavyarms, Sandrock, and Deathscythe H, arrive. The only other missing Gundams are fighting outside of Earth's atmosphere. Wufei says it's his duty to stop Heero, but Heero manages to convince Wufei that he is on the wrong side, and that his help would be appreciated. They both arrive in Brussles, the Wing Zero targeting the bunker with the huge Buster Rifle. It fire a few shots and manages to pierce the armour. Inside, Relena has been trying to convince Mariemaia that war is not necessarily the best path, and when Mariemaia talks back, Relena gives her a swift slap acrossed the face, to put the seven-year old in her place. Dekim then attempts to kill Relena, but Mariemaia takes the bullet for her, no seeing that she is right, and Dekim is killed by his own men. Heero enters the bunker, and symbolically fires at Mariemaia with an empty gun, claiming that he no longer has to kill, and he loses conciousness. As soldiers attend to Mariemaia, and Relena cradles Heero, outside, peace has been restored.

Mariemaia, handicapped and brainwashed of her grandfather's evil plans of world domination, later visits her father's grave under the keeping of Lady Une. The five pilots destroy their Gundams. Wufei leaves with Sally Po to join the Preventer Intelligence Agency. Zechs and Noin leave, together. Trowa rejoins the circus with Katherine. Quatre helps complete the construction on L3-X18999. Relena returns to her duties as Foreign Minister, and Heero, once again, vanishes from the rest of the world...
