Arguably the most well-known Narn in the galaxy today, G'Kar came from simple beginnings. Born during the Centauri occupation of Narn, G'Kar grew up outside of the capital city in a small town. However, when he had reached the age of five Earth years, the township he was in suffered a massive Centauri raid as vengeance for the Narn Resistance destroying a Centauri transport in orbit. G'Kar's family was carried off and enslaved in the household of a Centauri noble who was living on Narn. Three years later G'Kar witnessed the death of his father when the older Narn spilled hot soup on the Centauri lady of the house. The noble, enraged, had his father hung from the neck until dead. The sight finally pushed G'Kar over the edge of sanity and he fled the household for the safety of the Narn Resistance. Though young, G'Kar fought with the Resistance and celebrated as hard as the rest of the Narn in 2209 when the Centauri finally withdrew from the planet. Accounts of G'Kar's life become sparse at this point and it is suspected that G'Kar became a member of the Imperial Fleet, possibly as a Starfighter pilot which would explain his expertise in flying Narn Starfighters. It is known that he was involved in arms shipments to the League of Non-Alligned Worlds during the Dilgar War in 2230 and brokered a deal between the Earth Alliance and Narn Regime for weapons shipments in 2247 as Earth was fighting the Minbari Federation. In 2253 G'Kar became a member of the Kah'ri Third Circle and was awarded with the title of Ambassador, being posted to the new Earth Alliance station Babylon 5. From that point out, G'Kar was a loud and well-heard voice in the galactic political arena. In 2257, the Vorlon Ambassador to Babylon 5 suffered an assassination attempt at the hands of a rogue human who had been outfitted with a black-ops rated stealth suit. Though the Earth Alliance was proven to be ignorant of the assassination attempt, it was learned that the would-be assassin gained entry to Babylon 5 via a Narn transport craft. When questioned, G'Kar played the part of ignorance but Commander Sinclair made it very clear to the Ambassador that he knew that something larger was up. Since that time, G'Kar has never been found to be involved in the death of another person on Babylon 5. When the Centauri Emperor Turhan arrived on Babylon 5 in 2259 for an official visit, secret orders from the Kah'ri arrived directing G'Kar to set up an assassination on the Emperor as a vengeance act. However, before he was able to execute the order, the Emperor fell ill and called for G'Kar to come to his side. The Emperor and the Ambassador finally brokered a final peace agreement, meant to end the years of border raids and attacks. The peace was only to last hours, however, as Shadow forces attacked a Narn outpost, decimating it and begining the Narn-Centauri War. Faced with defeat, G'Kar began looking for allies for his beleaguered Regime. He was unable to find any outside of John Sheridan and his Army of Light and in 2260 Narn fell to the Centauri assault. As the last free member of the Kah'ri, G'Kar sought out and was granted sanctuary on Babylon 5. |
