Robotics Development Platform | |||||||||||||||||||||
Why A Robotics Development Platform? Firstly writting good software is not easy. Secondly many equipment designers and developers end up developing the software for their machines in Assembly code. If you have tried assembly code you would know how difficult it can be and debuggung the code can be a nightmare. It's generally left to the really gifted few to develop machines controll software. Such good programs are not easy to develop as the human operator can lose an arm and a leg operating the machine if software has unknown problems. Furthermore the machines have to perform 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks a year without hanging, crashing, jamming or else there would be expensive production down time. As you would have read on this web site, I had invented a parallel processing theorem for Real Time Machine controll. With this theorem I used to develop software in assembly language without bugs, without expensive debugging and tracing equipment. In fact software development that would take two years was done in six months. I was so good at it that I was sent all over the world by my ex-company to trouble shoot equipment related problems. A major difficulty for software developers and their employers is the cost of debugging. Imagine if they didn't require debugging or atleast very minimal debugging was involved, all automated equipment would be developed on time and deliverd on schedule. With this "new" architecture you are forced to simplify the code processes there by almost elimanting the debuging time. Furthermore, Finite Event Analysis and the resulting software architecture, I personally believe, is a true parallel processing architecture. It lies at the very hardware to software interface. It can handle many concurrent processes ie multitask very efficiently and smoothly without those unexpected and unforseen system hangs or crashes. Our Goal Now the aim here, is to create a Development Platform for software programmers and engineers to use a higher level language and not CPU specific assembly code for them to develop their intelligent CPU controlled robots. Actually, we would have to supply a micro OS for every CPU, to the equipment developers to operate their equipment. Note we are not competing with Microsoft. (Nobody can compete with them, ours is a niche market)Their's is a world of human interfacing with very large applications which is a very different ball game altogether. But it could be possible for our micro OS to be embedded into Windows or inbetween Windows & the hardware. Ours is the world of machine interfacing and 'portable' tight fast small reliable code. Market Potential Imagine every hand phone, washing machine, car engine and other robotic equipment using our code and micro OS. Funding Required Funding required would be of the order of USD5M to USD10M |
