Definitions
This site has a two-fold purpose. It is a support site for those who have become disillusioned with or have resigned from the Haifan tradition of the Baha'i Faith. It is also there to caution seekers who are contemplating joining the Haifa tradition.
However, even as simple sounding a mission as this is, it soon can become pretty complicated, so let's clarify a handful of terms before going further. The definitions below are the ones being used for the purposes of this site.
"Baha'i" - Any one who believes in Baha'u'llah. I do not care if one believes that he is a "Manifestation" of God, or just someone who has in some  ineffable way received and conveyed divine inspiration to mankind. Nor do I care, for the purposes of definition, if the person is officially in the Haifan tradition, or is an "unenrolled Baha'i" (see terms below), or a "disenrolled" Baha'i, or a Baha'i who belongs to one of the Baha'i splinter groups.
"Baha'i in the Haifan Tradition" - This term refers to Baha'is who belong to the main stream Baha'i organization headed by the Universal House of Justice which has  its opulent headquarters on Mt. Carmel in Haifa. This is a subcategory of the first term, "Baha'i."
"Disenrolled Baha'i" - A person who believes in Baha'u'llah but who was dropped by the Haifan tradition from its membership roles. This category is also a subcategory of the term "Baha'i." Very few have been officially disenrolled.
"Unenrolled Baha'i" - A Baha'i in the Haifan tradition who has formally resigned from that tradition, but who maintains belief in Baha'u'llah. This is a another subcategory of Baha'i.
"Former Baha'i" - Someone who once believed in Baha'u'llah but no longer does, irrespective of whether or not this person resigned from the Haifan tradition or from one of the splinter groups, was disenrolled, or never joined any group whatsoever.
The vast majority of Baha'is belong to the Haifan tradition. This site is specifically for Haifan Baha'is who are are disillusioned, and for disenrolled, unenrolled, and former Baha'is who once belonged to the Haifan tradition but who do not belong to the other splinter groups. Note that "unenrolled" Baha'is and "disenrolled" Baha'is are people who still maintain belief of some sort in Baha'u'llah. However, "former Baha'is" do not maintain such a belief and such individuals may say things that believers in Baha'u'llah may find unpleasant. However, while we ask that those who no longer believe in Baha'u'llah keep their criticisms of the central figures of the faith within the realm of polite discourse,  such individuals are free to post their criticisms in a constructive manner.
