I was conceived on April 2nd 2000(Mother's Day!! Daddy forgot to buy the chocolates!!!)Mummy had to go to see her G.P.on the 25th April for the results from a blood test she had and she told the G.P that she'd done a pregnancy test and it was positive.A midwife came to visit Mummy and Daddy ,two days later, at home and she rang the hospital to book in for a look at me.
On May 24th Mummy was just 9 weeks pregnant but she and Daddy were able to see me to make sure that I didn't have the same problems that Gareth had.There was a 1 in 100 chance.Everything looked fine and the lady told Mummy and Daddy that I was the size of a strawberry.Daddy wanted to know what the rest of Mummy's expanding tummy was!!( Chips and chocolate).Mummy was told to come back in 4 weeks to make sure my arms and legs were developed.I was like a little bean. |

Mummy and Daddy now began to get excited and my due date was confirmed as December 26th. Mummy hoped I'd be a day early so she wouldn't have to wash up after lunch!!!
On June 23rd Mummy and Daddy got to see me again and everything looked just fine.The next appointment was with Mummy's midwife for an A.F.P blood test at 16 weeks.On July 19th Mummy got a letter to say that something was wrong. |

Mummy and Daddy went to the hospital but when they took a look ,my angel wings had already arrived and I'd gone to play with Gareth on the rainbow slide in Heaven.Mummy was induced on July 21 and Mummy and Daddy held me in their arms on July 23rd at 3:10 PM. I weighed 3oz and was 17 cms long.My head was 10cms in circumference!!! |

The midwives who delivered me took some photos of me and then I was blessed and received the name 'Dominic'.Although no one is really sure why God called me home so soon, I did have a cystic hygroma .Mummy has since found out that this is a 'moist tumour' .It is caused by cysts in the soft tissues especially in the neck and although it is non-malignant ,it can swell and block the airways or surround the heart. Mummy chose butterflies for my page as the summer I went to Heaven,there were more butterflies than ever in Mummy's garden.Thanks for taking time to read about me and please take a look at the rest of my family....... |
