My Darling, Ashley Before you're precious eyes could see The miracle of life cast a spell upon me. In that time we longed to view, The child of love, we never knew. When the wind whispers, we'll think of you. For my little girl, the sky will always be blue. The scent of a flower that blooms in the spring, I shall feel your heart's breath upon the butterfly's wing. As the bird sings softly in the tree, My thoughts rise to where you will always be free. In the night, the words are so clear, My heart swelled as God said, "I need her here." We mourn this life that was kept from you, Though our love shall remain all the years through.
