I recently read my bio on this page and decided that it didn't really sound like me, so I'm writing a new one. The last bio talked about my cats (Maxwell and Bingo) who live with a good friend in Cleveland, how often I shave my head, the Chicago Bears and even my oversized toothbrush. What I really feel like sharing with you is how special this band and this music is to me...
Like most musicians, I was in many other bands before this one. I've played with many talented people along the way - some who made careers for themselves in music and some who eventually gave it up - and I've made alot of friends, too. A few of those friends ended up in Train with me and I gotta tell you, it's not easy getting five people together who share the same dreams and get along with each other so well; five people who have the chemistry and enough talent to create music that we're proud to listen to and enjoy performing for others; five people with enough ambition to turn dreams into reality. It's not unlike a certain six-time championship winning basketball team named Da Bulls! But, even Michael Jordan couldn't win the game by himself...he needed Scottie Pippen, Tony Kukoc, Dennis Rodman and the drummer (just kidding, Scott - I couldn't resist) all working together to be successful. I think this band has that and I feel very fortunate and proud to be a part of it. We work very hard and we have alot of fun together, but most importantly, we write music that we like. So many people end up stuck in a job that they don't really enjoy and so many musicians out there end up writing songs that don't come from their heart, because they're trying so hard to "make it big". It's very important to follow your heart and I believe this band does that. I love my job and I love this band! I love the people who are in it, I love the music we create together and I love the fans who are drawn to it. Being in this band I feel like a champion and...hey look, DONUTS!! |
