The UJTWP Hardcore Jeepers - Hobbs & the "Mighty 8"!

Hobbs is a Jeeper without a Jeep to drive! He is currently rebuilding his CJ-8. So to ease his pain I am giving him a "Jeep" here so he won't be without one! Hobbs has promised me pictures of his "8" as the work progresses. (We may get to see the pics till he checks out the "Jeep" below!) It will soon be a CJV-8 as he is going to install a small block Chevy engine. We will be saving the rest of this page for his project pics. Next week we will have pics of the frame.

The engine donor for Hobb's project was a Crapiece Wagon. (Oooops - "Caprice" excuse my poor spelling) He will be installing the 305 from the Caprice as he puts his "8" back together. Here is a picture of the "8s" engine to be. The question is, "Why does Hobbs need all this additional power for the 8"? See the bottom of this page for the answer!

As you can see, Hobbs is really rebuilding the "Mighty 8" and when he says "frame up restoration", he means it! This a picture of the frame being taken out for some work. Although I love to tease Hobbs about his 8, as you will see below, I must admit that I am very proud of his mechanical ability and his knowledge of both Jeeps and Jeep history! (Gee, did I actually compliment Hobbs! I must be slipping!)
