The town of RADICONDOLI, almost completely
surrounded by 
its original medieval walls, springs up from a hill
approximately 40 Km. Southwest of Siena in the heart of Tuscany.
The landscape is particularly striking, with
the works of man blending in harmoniously with nature. Castles
and old farms in the area attract many visitors.
The most important points of historic interest
in the region are all nearby:
the medieval towns of S. GIMIGNANO and VOLTERRA,
rich in Etruscan ruins, are only 50 minutes away; SIENA or
FLORENCE can be easily reached in just over an hour's drive and
in just a little more, you can be at the seaside.
Another possibility, pleasant and beneficial at
the same time, is a dip at the ancient thermal baths at Bagni
delle Galleraie, a source of hot sulphurous water, about 15 Km
away.
In the same area there are numerous sulphurous
geysers, some of which are 
amongst the most powerful in the world. They are closely
studied by experts and scientists for their use as natural energy
sources both for innovative geo-thermal electrical power
plants and for greenhouse plant cultivation. Castles and old
farms in the vicinity attract many visitors.
Most of the area, which is scantily inhabited, is
covered by forest rich in Mediterranean flora and wild fauna. The
rivers that flow through the territory are clean and clear with
rich vegetation along their banks: on a hot summer day one is
easily tempted to take a dip!
