Project Rebel
Project Rebel is a 1986 Honda Rebel 250.  This is my second bike, the first was a 1970 Honda Rebel 350.  The 350 was ok, but I never really liked the frame shape. I was too boxy for me.  I wanted something that dipped down under the seat like this. I picked this up for $600 in *very* bad condition.  In fact the only thing it had going for it was the fact that it ran!  So I trucked it home and began taking it apart and cleaning it up. The tank and fenders wern't beat up, but the person who owned it before me had spray painted it blue (or attempted to) and had Harley stickers all over it.  I have nothing against Harleys, but if you want a Harley go buy one, stickers do not a bike make.  There was chrome tape all over it and a big fairing, it was in bad shape.  I wish I had a before picture....  Anyway, I removed all the chrome tape from the motor, tank, fenders, bars (this crap was everywhere!  Then sanded it all back down and repainted it canary yellow.  I also added the saddle bags, turn signals, grips, mirrors, and leather lever covers.  I modified the liscense plate frame to remove the reflectors and slash cut cut the pipes. Many, many hours were spent buffing the motor case, brackets, accessories and surrounding areas with the Dremel using a felt bit and some metal restorer cream.  Its not done yet, but so far so good!
Left:  Hours of buffing got the motor looking pretty good.  It's not done yet but you should have seen what I had to start with.
Right:  Yet another pic of my little Rebel, I'm actually thinking about painting it again, but what color?
Above:  Finally, a nice warm day!  Gotta take the bike out, these days are few and far between up here...
