Face to Face with Jesus

Growing up in a Christian home or attending church regularly or being a nice person does not make someone a Christian. No matter how strong a parent’s faith may be, a child must make his own decision about becoming a Christian.

Gigi Tchividjian, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham, and her husband Stephan have raised seven children in a Christian home. But Gigi says they wanted to be sure that each child understood the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Even though they are born into a home that gives them all the Christian advantages, that does not mean they are born Christians. At some point in their lives they have to come face-to-face with Jesus and personally ask Him to be a part of their lives," she explains.

Perhaps you grew up in a family that attended church regularly and taught Christian values. But did you ever begin a love relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ?

As flawed human beings we all fall short of God’s righteous standard. The Bible says, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Because of sin we are separated from God.

Because of God’s great love for us, He provided a way for us to connect with Him. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sin. By accepting the gift of His Son, Jesus, we can establish a love relationship with God—one that is personal and permanent.
