A Very Important Question Where Will You Go? Our question to you is this: “If you were to die - today - or if Jesus were to come - today -, where would you go?” Would you go to Heaven or to Hell? There are no other choices. The Bible tells us that God created us to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and Salvation. Eternal separation from God is Hell. Eternal union with God is eternal life in Heaven. Make no mistake about it, Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. (Matthew 10:28, 25:44-46; John 3:16; Romans 6:23; I John 2:25 ; I John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15) You say, “Well of course, I want to go to Heaven. I believe in God, go to church and try to be the very best person I can. Isn't that enough? What else can I do?” Those are good questions. Most people, when asked why they think they are going to Heaven when they die, say one or more of the following: “ I believe in God; I’ve been baptized; I’ve fulfilled all the religious requirements of my church; I’m a good person; I go to church regularly and give generously of my time and money; I respect my fellow man. I would never willfully hurt another human being; I don’t lie, cheat, steal, smoke, drink, swear, etc., etc., etc.; I’m kind, considerate, compassionate and loving”, and so on and so forth. These are all excellent traits that we should all strive for but they will not get us into Heaven because they are based on our works - the things we do, our own human efforts - not on what God has already done for us. Salvation (deliverance from the power of sin; redemption) is a gift from God to man - it can’t be earned by any amount of self-improvement or good works. (Ephesians 2: 8-9; Titus 3:5) You Must Be Born Again “So how do I get to heaven?”, you ask. God says in order to get to Heaven, you must be born again. A religious leader named Nicodemus came to Jesus one night for help. Jesus told him “You must be born again,” and then expanded this to include all of us by stating quite emphatically, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” (John 3:3). When Nicodemus asked Jesus how any man could enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born, Jesus answered, “That which is born of flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3:6) stating again that one must experience a spiritual rebirth in order to enter heaven -- “You must be born again” (John 3:7). God's Simple Plan In the Bible, God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple. You can be saved today. How? First, you must realize that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23) Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death (Romans 6:23).This includes eternal separation from God in Hell (Heb 9:27) But God loved you so much, that he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place. (2Corinthians 5:21; Leviticus17:11; Hebrews 9:22; Romans 5:8). Although we cannot understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place. He became our substitute. It’s true! God cannot lie! You must repent of your sins (Acts 17:30). This repentance is a change of mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross. You must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:30-31) Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as Savior. (John 1:12, 14:6; Romans 10:13) Jesus Died For You! The reality for you my friend is that Jesus did not die for everyone...The truth is He died for each one. You may ask “What is the difference?”. The answer is that if He died for every one, then everyone would go to Heaven when they die, but we already know that is not true. You must get the picture that God has so clearly given to us which is: When Jesus died on the Cross, He died for one person at a time and in order for you to go to Heaven when you die, all you have to do is realize that it was for you that Jesus died. If you were the only person in the world who had ever sinned throughout history, Jesus would still have given His life for you. The only ones for whom God gave His only begotten Son are those, who not only believe this, but have also taken it personally and asked God to forgive them for the very sin in their lives that caused God to give His Son (Jn 3:16; Romans 5:1; Galatians 3:26) Pray A Simple Prayer Have you done that? If not, then right now, this very moment, you can. Just bow your head and say, “Dear Lord Jesus, forgive me for the sin in my life that You died for and give me eternal life with You in Heaven. Thank you, in Jesus name. Amen.” If you sincerely prayed that prayer, then you can believe that God has answered and you now have His gift of eternal life. Congratulations. Please take a moment to tell us about your salvation experience. Love, Bro. Bill Price |
