Of course, I was laughing my head off, but the person I was with, never having seen Utena, didn't see the humour. The Ken doll itself is really, really ugly. It has very rodent-like features. The barbie doll, as another friend said, would look better after being pierced by a million swords. Said friend and I determined that the Barbie being pierced by a million swords (plastic swords, of course, like the kind you get in sandwiches and such) would not have the effect of making the Rose Prince Ken Doll more handsome, like it did for Dios/Akio... Ah well, they can't ALL be gems.
The really disturbing thing is, those things that are all over the doll's dress?--they look like little knock-off Rose seals. Well, if Disney's been stealing plot-lines from anime (as some people claim), then why not Mattel, too?
