Butterfly Landing...in the fall and winter, 2004
Dogwood tree and azaleas, end of porch, again in the fall.
I spent several days trimming these four azaleas down to my shoulder height!  I  trimmed them late, but they will still be full of color in the spring.
I was busy raking the first batch of fall leaves, when I looked up to see this vibrant color framing my view. I just had to get the camera...and of course, the colors aren't as brilliant as my eyes saw them.
This tree was covered with ice, and I caught it in the afternoon sun, its crystals sparkling. Its branches looked as if they were dipped in ice all around.  Luckily, we only had a couple of days of  "ice storm" this year. The camellia leaves were dripping icicles for several days, but I only had minor leaf damage, amazingly enough.
