From the Patriot 1914, page 7, volume 4 :
A very pretty wedding took place at St. Paul's Church, Sturgeon on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1914, when Mr. John L. Fisher and Miss Emma Agnes Kearney were united in the holy bonds of Matrimony.
The bride was assisted by her sister, Miss Elizabeth Kearney, and the Groom was ably supported by his brother, Mr. Martin Fisher.
The bride becomingly attired in blue satin with hat to match and carried a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas. The bridesmaid was attired in blue silk, with hat to match and also carried a bouquet of sweet peas.
The nuptual knot was tied by Reverend Theodore Gallant, P.P. After the marriage Mass the wedding march was played by Mr. William Farrell, organist of St. Paul's Church.
After the wedding ceremony, the happy couple drove to the home of the Bride's brother, Mr. John M. Kearney, where the wedding party with some invited guests partook of a very sumptuous repast. Tea being served, the wedding party drove to the home of the Groom's parents where a large number of invited guests assembled and tripped the light fantastic to the music of the violin until all had fully enjoyed themselves.
The music was ably supplied by Mr. Oliver Kemp and Mr. William Murphy. The happy couple were the recipients of a large number of costly presents. We all join in wishing the happy couple a long and happy life |
