The Gentle Art of Self Defense |
|
Hapkido is a counter-attack technique of self defense based on understanding the biological kinetics of the human body. Therefore the fast and slow movements of blood flow and breathing of the body are the foundation upon which three thousand, seven hundred techniques were developed. As you start learning these techniques you will become aware of the numerous vital points in the body, enabling you to quickly find them in your opponent and utilize his force of attack to your advantage to counter-attack. By applying one decisive blow to his unguarded vital points you can immediately render him helplessly immobile. The most important and basic advantage of Hapkido lies in the fact that its techniques enable you to knock the opponent down using a minimum amount of your own force, because you are making use of your opponent's force. |
This form of martial art is suitable for anyone, especially women, the elderly and physically weak. Grand Master Dr. Jung Hwan Park studied under the founder of modern Hapkido, Grand Master Yong-Sool Choi, and founded the World Traditional Hapkido Federation. This unique martial art form is taught at J. Park World Tae Kwon Do & Hapkido Center by Master Barbeau who is a student of Grandmaster J. Park, Master Rick DeAguila and other Masters who trained with students in a direct line of students back to the Hapkido founder himself, Grand Master Yong-Sool Choi. |
