i'm home!
but i sure do miss waking up in tustin.  parkin and i had a wonderful time over the weekend.  we were having so much fun that we ended up staying an extra day!  as soon as pictures are uploaded, i'll write up an update.
but basically, the weekend was a success!  i had gone in hopes to find satin for the bridesmaids dresses so
peg took me to the garment district.  damn, the garment district is bad-ass!  you can find anything there, for great prices... at least at some stores.  i am so relieved, you don't even know.  but yeah, more details to come.
big franks to peg, aric, and ashlyn for a super fun and relaxing weekend!!!

parkin and i are slaves to the television.  peg came up with the term and i love it.  it totally describes us.  yesterday, we had to leave la to get home by 8 to watch gilmore girls/smallville.  we have so many shows to watch every night, it's hard to keep track.  but not to worry, parkin always knows.  he prints out a television schedule everyday and highlights what he is going to watch and what he needs to record.  i wanted to get tivo, but i don't think that we are going to.  does it record multiple shows at one time? coz we have sometimes 3 vcrs going during certain time slots.  it's crazy.  as soon as we got home last night, we had to watch what was recorded over the weekend.  and as soon as nypd blue was over for jung, we had to pop in the recorded episode of buffy and 24.  slaves... SLAVES i tell ya.

thank goodness for the rain this morning!  i had so many smooshed and splattered bugs on my windshield that would not wash off from my car''s washer fluid and wipers.  but thanks to the drops of rain that soaked then gently wiped away the guts, when i drove off this morning, there were hardly any streaks!  very cool.

had a disturbing conversation yesterday afternoon with a boy from the store where we ordered our wedding invitations.  we ordered them from a chinatown store called ho tai.  since it was chinatown, i knew that we would have to call in advance to make sure that they were ready for us.  our parents made it very difficult for us by planning the 'cookie/invitation' party this saturday... only 2 days after we received the invitations.  that is if they have it ready for us on time.

HT:  wai?
me:  yes, i'm calling to confirm that our wedding invitations will be ready for pick-up on thursday.
HT:  last name?
me:  jung.  j-u-n-g
pause
HT:  uh... wedding date?
me:  may 10
long pause
HT:  uh... what's the name again?
me:  jung.
HT:  first name?
me:  parkin
HT:  when did you sign the proof?
me:  january
HT:  this is for parkin and...?
me:  sarah.  parkin and sarah
HT:  and the wedding date is on...?
me:  may 10
long pause
. . .
longer pause
me:  hello?
HT:  yeah?
me:  so are they ready?
HT:  come pick them up on saturday
me:  no.  we have to pick it up on thursday, as you promised.
HT:  uh...
me:  we have our cookie party on saturday and we have to have the invitations on thursday.
pause
HT:  ok, thursday at 4 in the afternoon.
me:  is there any way that you can have it done earlier that day?
HT:  no because we are working on it right now.  you can call in the morning to see if it is done, but if not you come in the afternoon.
me:  fine.

arg.  so frustrating working with chinese people.  if it was an american business, this would be uncalled for!  but alas, we are working with the chinese folk.  the people who created procrastination.  who HASN'T heard of asian time.
parkin and i are both afraid that there will be typos with the order.  we have no faith.  we know that even tho we put the order in over a month ago, that they just started working on the order as soon as i hung up the telephone yesterday.  *sigh*  they better be ready on thursday.  and they better have everything in order.  or else i'm goin in there screaming like a banshee.
