it's a beautiful day out today. i'm so glad that we have windows in this office. bikram yoga kicked my ass last night! lordy lord lord. i felt like i was kicked and beaten last night, with sweat pouring down every inch of my body. i met my cousin laura outside the studio, funky door yoga, around 6pm and i signed in with my free pass. laura had an extra yoga mat which she gave to me. so sweet. and we went into the restroom to change and take off some clothes. the class was packed at 6:15, and greg the instuctor memorized each and every one of our names. damn impressive. he was able to critique and help each and every one of us. i've taken yoga before in college, but this was different. very different. the class started out just fine, i felt like i was in a sauna, but the heat raised to 104 degrees, and the poses began to get harder. after about 20 minutes, i started getting dizzy and felt like i was blacking out. this happened to me one other time and at that time, i fainted, and i didn't want that to happen there, so i took a breather outside. the woman at the desk asked me what was wrong. i told her that i felt really sick and wanted to faint, and she said that it was normal! after 3 years of doing it, she said SHE still got dizzy. geez. so she suggested i go back in and just sit for awhile, but to just get back into the room. so i went back in and sat for awhile. i felt like such a failure! soon after they finished one pose and was moving on to the other, i slowly got up and joined in. i still felt dizzy so i stopped again. finally i got back into it but took it super easy. it was so hard, and my muscles felt so fatigued. they were trembling and with every pose, my whole body shook. sometimes the room was silent but you could hear droplets of sweat hit student's yoga mats. you could see the sweat dripping from student's bodies. i felt nauseus, i felt like i wanted to throw up. i felt like i needed to poo, and i felt dizzy. but this was all normal. i was so tired after an hour and i still had 30 minutes to go! my face was flushed, i was so sweaty and slippery, it was hard to hold my poses. my whole body was tingling with pain, but i pushed harder and harder and made it through the rest of the class. my most favorite was at the end when we did breathing exercises. we lay down and finished up with focus on the body. greg left us and some people got up and followed suit. i just lay there for a couple more minutes then got up. if i had stayed laying there any longer, i definately would have fallen asleep. haha. my pants were soaked. my underwear was soaked. my sports bra was soaked. my tank top on top of my sports bra was soaked. my head of hair was drenched with sweat. seriously it was like i had jumped into a swimming pool and came out without towel drying. i felt good, but i was so tired. as soon as i got home, i shed my clothes and washed every inch of me in a hot hot shower. i didnt' know what i wanted to do after my shower. i knew i should eat, but i wasn't hungry. i wanted to bake, but didn't. i decided to cut up some fruits to dehydrate. so all at the same time, i opened a can of green beans to heat up in the microwave, peeled open a banana to eat, washed the food dehydrater, and started peeling the skins off of apples and pears, and eating green beans. i was doing some serious multi-talking. i couldn't sit still. i was on some sort of yoga high. i finally stacked 4 trays of apples, pears, kiwi, strawberries and banana and started up the machine. i washed the dishes, made some nachos with cheese and sat down to eat them when park and parkin got home from the gym. finally 10pm hit and i sat in front of the tube to watch real world vegas and the family. as soon as the family ended, i went to bed and slept like a baby. i am so sore right now. my whole body. it's a different kind of sore that you get from working out at a gym. i am really sore, but i feel very refreshed and energized. i do plan on going again, but not until thursday. i don't think my body can handle two consecutive days of bikram yoga yet. i still want to borrow my friend's windsor pilates video. i hear that's a body killer too. because i showered last night, i slept in for an extra 10-15 minutes. :) i hopped out of bed to turn off the food dehydrator and i think everything was done, if not over dried. hehe. i think i was only suppose to leave the machine on for 6-7 hours. instead the fruits were drying for 10 hours in the machine. oops! i tried a dried pear before heading out of the house and it was yummy! unfortunately i didn't have time to unstick everything to put into a bag for snack today, but i'll do that as soon as i get home tonight after work. and i have more apples and pinepples to dry. i was thinking about drying some lemon slices too. i wonder how that would turn out? oh yeah, new wedding update in the wedding updates section. man, it's gorgeous out. simply gorgeous. have a won-dah-ful day all. *waves* |
