i sing to life and to it's tragic beauty to pain and to strife but all that dances through me the rise and the fall i've lived through it all canto alla vita ~josh groban featuring the coors bikram, oh bikram. you really know how to kick some ass. the 26 poses... the 104 degrees of heat my muscles were shaking and i wanted nothing to do but cheat. ode to bikram ~sarah :) seriously, yoga is not getting any easier. and what i learned yesterday is that if you don't eat enough during the day before class, not only do you feel weaker, but you become even more surly and disappointed in yourself. you're out of breath much faster, and there are tingles in the arms and legs when you stay in one pose for too long. but yoga is very positive. it teaches you to let go of things and not to hold back in the following poses, which i was able to do, but now today, i'm bummed. haha. i didn't forget to eat or anything, but i didn't eat a lot yesterday. all i had was a bowl of fried rice, a pretty small portion at 12:30. i didn't realize i forgot to snack on something until i was on the bridge, on the way to class. my tummy was on the verge of growling so i fished around in my bag for something of substanance. the only thing i found was a sugary rice krispy snack which was yummy, but not fulfilling. i felt fine at the beginning of class. i told myself to push harder than usual, but halfway thru, as we began the sitting poses, i was worn out. my heart was pounding, so i had to hold back. *darnit* my cousin laura and i sat in the sitting room after class to cool down and wipe off. funny thing was that even after almost 10 minutes of cooling down, sweat was still pouring from my neck, chest, and arms. it was pretty gross because i felt each and every bead of sweat slide down the bits of my body and absorb into my clothes. and even worse, my hair braid, which was fine and dry at the beginning of class, was soaked. sweat from my head had seeped down to the ends of my hair. the red of my tips soaked, sweat shimmied down the braid collecting color to splash my shirt with shades of pink. isn't that crazy? yeah, and really gross. i must make myself sound so sexy. haha! i am so sore but yes, i'll be going to class tonight. i brought an apple to eat at 4, a good couple of hours before class. sonny helped me download a pop up stopper on my computer. it was getting ridiculous because whenever i opened a new window to check email, or edit this site, at least 2 or 3 pop ups would appear! it was really pissing me off so sonny sent me to this site which provided free downloads. now, every single time i open a new page and expect a pop up, i see a red block icon refraining the pop up to appear. so cool! it's such a good stopper tho, that it also stops me from checking my posts to edit (without pushing a secret button first) and it also prohibits me from posting a new entry in xanga (without pushing the secret button beforehand). but i love it. a few pop ups sneak through every once in awhile, but all in all, a great little invention, the pop-up stopper. *thanks dude* a couple of our friends have been responding with extra guests on the response card. because parkin and i were a bit limited on space and guest list, we decided that we could only allow a handful of our unmarried friends to bring guests. and one of the rules was if we know them, they're in. haha. if after the seating arrnagement is done and there is extra room, then we will invite them to bring a guest, but for now, we have to be strict. i'll be calling some friends this week.... i hope that they understand. when my brother got married a couple of years ago, they had invited a family of 3 to attend the wedding. they responded with 5! it was a sticky situation that was solved, but it was definately a sticky situation. hopefully we dont' hurt too many feelings, or any at all. parkin got a ticket yesterday for parking in his own driveway. wtf? he wasn't blocking anything but his garage. he left enough space for wheelchair entry. and the friggin ticket was for $75!!! city parking is hard, but when you can't even park in front of your house, wll that just sucks. ok, time to go and sulk some more, in the privacy of my own head. take it easy all, and have a great day. i leave you with a picture sonny took last weekend. why sonny, do you look so sad? and why, nikkon camera, must you shoot 3 shots of flash at us?! |
